Keira joined Aaron Katz Law LLC at its inception in October 2022, after honing her litigation skills at Ropes & Gray LLP for nearly five years. A 2016 honors graduate of Harvard Law School, Keira worked closely with Aaron Katz during her time at Ropes & Gray, including as his lead associate representing a parent charged in the “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal and on several False Claims Act investigations relating to c0-pay assistance charities. She has experience in all phases of investigations and litigation, including preparing cases for trial.  She has overseen companies’ responses to civil and criminal subpoenas duces tecum issued by the Department of Justice, drafted successful dispositive and discovery motions in both state and federal courts, steered and managed complex discovery efforts, and worked with experts and consultants to rebut highly technical liability theories.

Keira has significant experience defending individuals and companies against the government, including in matters involving the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the federal mail and wire fraud statutes, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.  She has represented clients across the health care and life science industries against an array of government claims, including allegations of off-label marketing, insurance fraud, and kickback violations.  She has also represented investment advisers and financial services executives facing SEC and DOJ inquiries and investigations, particularly involving accounting and insider trading issues.

Keira is also experienced in civil securities and corporate governance litigation, including representation of public company directors and officers in securities class actions and breach of fiduciary duty lawsuits collateral to Department of Justice settlements. She recently assisted in securing complete dismissal of a lawsuit filed in the District of Delaware alleging several violations of federal securities law in connection with a $1.3 billion pharmaceutical company merger. She also has experience in issues arising from private equity transactions, including representing a private equity sponsor in an expedited $2 billion dollar merger litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery concerning the application of a “material adverse event” clause to the target company’s business performance during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Keira maintains an active pro bono practice, which has included advising pro se litigants on appellate strategy and representing immigrant children and their parents separated at the Texas border pursuant to the Trump Administration’s “zero tolerance” policy.  Keira also recently completed a six-month fellowship at a Boston-based legal aid organization, where she represented public school students in school disciplinary matters in order to prevent unlawful classroom exclusion and advocated for low-income children with disabilities.

Raised outside of Philadelphia, Keira now lives in Wellesley, MA with her husband and two children.
